Below are tips on how to plan an unforgettable honeymoon in Bali and make the most of your time in this unique paradise.
The Best Time to Honeymoon in Bali
Before you start creating your Bali honeymoon itinerary, discuss with your partner what season you both want to travel. The summer months—June, July and August—are the busiest and most expensive times to visit. But, compared to the off season, there are more activities to take advantage of as a result of the influx of tourists.
Even with the additional traffic and crowded beaches, summertime brings the best weather. August, specifically, is the driest month of the year. On the other hand, the wettest months to visit are between November and March; December, January and February are the rainiest. But that doesn’t stop some people. Despite rain falling every week in December, the island still hosts large groups during the holiday season. Specifically, the difficult-to-pass-up opportunity to ring in the New Year.
Temperatures in Bali stay relatively consistent year-round, between 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit. One exception is the rainy season when the humidity can increase, and the bugs come out. Be sure to pack accordingly!
The good news is no matter what season you choose to visit, there is no shortage of sunshine and clear skies in Bali!
What to Add to Your Honeymoon Registry
If you’re headed to Bali for your honeymoon, chances are you’re up for adventure. The best way to take full advantage is to register for the best experiences.
A couple’s massage is never a bad way to start the trip of a lifetime. The Lagoon Spa at The Laguna Bali, Reméde Spa at The St. Regis Bali and Body Temple Spa are just a few of our favorites. They offer exotic scenery as you and your partner relax in luxury.
Bali is probably best known for lush scenery and sweeping landscapes. We highly recommend traveling to Ubud—a place most people only experience on the back of a postcard. This charming area is full of rice terraces to walk through and there isn’t a bad spot for a photo. Typically, the rice terraces are layered, so once you’re at the top you can take in all the scenery with your loved one. Ubud is also home to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary and The Elephant Cave. Both are favorites among visitors.
The food in Bali is some of the best in the world, so planning a nice meal for you and your partner is a must. One of our favorites is The Amora Bali Restaurant, located a few hundred feet above sea level with a jaw-dropping view of Mt. Batur. Nestled among the clouds, the restaurant offers a backdrop you simply can’t find anywhere else.
But if heights really aren’t your thing, there are plenty of restaurants along the beach to dial up the romance. We recommend adding two or three dinners to your registry to take full advantage of the island’s fine dining options.
One excursion that seems to be a popular choice among honeymooners is the Bali Volcano and Jungle Swing Experience. On the way up the mountain, you and your partner will try authentic Bali tea and coffee at a plantation along with local food. Up top, you’ll then get a chance to pose for photos on the Bali Swing—these are “Instagram moments” to say the least.
Other Bali activities we recommend adding to your honeymoon registry include the following:
- Hiking Mount Ayung to see the ‘Gates of Heaven’
- Guided tour of the various waterfalls such as Tibumana and Tekad Cepung
- Bali quad bike adventure
- Bali snorkeling tours around Blue Lagoon
- Bali temple tours, including Gunung Kawi and Tirta Empul
- Helicopter ride around Bali for unreal aerial views
From swimming with dolphins to hanging out with monkeys to eating meals in the clouds, Bali has it all and then some. When you’re choosing what to include on your registry, remember it’s always better to have more than not enough. It also gives your guests an exciting glimpse into the kind of traveler you are!
Which Side of the Island to Visit in Bali?
Bali is a considerably large island, but each side offers something unique. South Bali is known for beaches, nightlife and shopping; primarily where travelers stay when visiting. It’s the easiest part to get around in, and most excursions are within walking distance from each other. Alternatively, East Bali is perfect for daredevils, offering plenty of hiking trails and diving opportunities.
If you’re staying in South Bali, renting a car to get around is highly recommended and can even be added to your registry! North Bali is primarily uninhabited, and a majority of the beaches are unspoiled. This means they’re difficult to get to, so be sure you’re on the correct path to get there.
Where to Stay in Bali
Your Bali honeymoon is sure to be an unforgettable trip and there are a number of fantastic places to stay to make sure of it. But, in the end, it all comes down to personal preference.
For a Bali all-inclusive honeymoon, we recommend booking with our partner hotel, Ayana Resort and Spa. It’s situated on a cliff-top area with unbeatable views, steps from a soft sand beach surrounded by the lush tropical beauty of Jimbaran Bay. As a guest, you’ll enjoy both the exotic elegance and laid-back charm Bali is known for. Simply add Ayana Resort and Spa rooms and packages to your registry for guests to fulfill.
There are plenty of other Bali hotels and resorts that offer the amenities you need to make your wish list come true. A little research will help you narrow down the best options. Wherever you and your partner end up, Bali hotels are a great place to splurge because enjoying the rest of the island is highly affordable. Imagine, for example, walking into a room with rose petals sprinkled across lavish bedding. Or, a large bubble bath surrounded by candles and flowers. Perhaps both!
Bali is truly the perfect honeymoon destination to embark on your next chapter. As always, Celebration Wishes is here to make your experiences unforgettable, so refer to our recommended excursion ideas if need a little help.
